"Let Me Help You "

Raj believes in resolving disputes in a cost-effective manner. Unnecessary litigation is only a tool employed by those seeking to turn a profession about solving problems into one concerned about increasing revenue.

What I Do

Lawyers are dime a dozen, it’s important to know who you are hiring to help you in your matter.

I Listen.

It is important to find out more about your matter and the reasons why you wish to pursue someone. I never look at the clock when listening to my clients.

I Negotiate.

Many lawyers prefer settling matters in Court. I prefer to settle matters outside of Court. My clients spend less on fees and they achieve an outcome they are comfortable with.

I Resolve.

I pride myself in finding creative solutions for my clients. Not every problem is a nail and not all solutions are hammers. Being able to resolve matters tactfully is an art.

About Devaraj

Being a lawyer or starting a law firm was never my lifelong ambition. Law is in fact my fourth profession. I would like to think that I am a creative person and I had a passion for video games early in my life. As I strive to merge passion with a career I began my journey as a freelance 3D modeller and eventually joined ST Electronics and worked in their terrain and simulation team that had an emphasis on building military simulators.  I eventually moved on from being a 3D modeller to doing videography and photography. I started a production house with like-minded friends as a side hussle. It was during this period that I discovered that I enjoyed finding creative solutions to problems and I honed my eye for detail.

In 2010, I had the opportunity to participate in a reality show called Biggest Loser Asia Season 2. I quit my job immediately and flew to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia without a backup plan. The show was physically intensive and lasted six months. I trained in and out of the gym daily for at least twelve hours. I eventually lost 67kg and emerged, being crowned the winner. After being crowned the champion and winning a sizeable prize pool, I decided to try and help others realise their potential. This stint in life made me realise that I was built to withstand a tremendous amount of abuse and that life had given me considerable willpower to overcome adversity.

After winning the show, I struggled to try to find a way to merge all that I’ve learnt about myself thus far. Being creative, wanting to help others, being detail orientated and my technical knowledge of IT. I managed to secure an internship at Drew & Napier LLC. It was during this internship that I felt that this was a profession that could holistically merge my strengths together. I thus I embarked on the journey of becoming a lawyer.

Law is not an easy path. The subject itself was convoluted and the application of various concepts was tricky. I quickly realise that I needed to help others not only solve their problems but also make the information digestible. Over the years of having the privilege of working with many other lawyers, I’ve formed the opinion that the legal profession itself could use a bit of change. I realise that today’s problems require solutions that are modern and not simply the solutions taught and learned entirely from our predecessors. While my solutions faced some pushback from other lawyers and my colleagues, it seems to produce results. My clients were happy.

Setting up Lions Chambers LLC has been the best decision I’ve made so far. It allows me to be the very change I want to see in the legal profession and to provide my clients with the kind of care they deserve. Every time I am able to resolve a dispute in favour of my client without the need of dragging the matter to Court tells me that as a firm we are on the right track. We are not opposed to fighting in Court, but the real victims in my opinion are the clients. The sheer amount of legal fees involved at times does not make sense.

At Lions Chambers LLC, each and every individual in the firm is a reflection of the firm’s core belief. We must be passionate about providing a solution to people’s problems. The solutions must be cost-effective. We must be upfront about the likelihood of success. We will not turn this profession into one that is simply about turning clients into revenue.

Not just another Lawyer

We’re not all just boring black & white suits. Just to conclude on a lighter note. I’ve always been a bit of an IT Geek. The skills I learned during my days in polytechnic helped me build my own firm’s website and all the content that we have been posting. During my free time, I enjoy flying my DJI FPV drone at breakneck speeds for the sake of taking cinematic videos. I also love spending quality time with my two cats whom I love immensely. Occasionally each year I also take part in the EMMA competition where automotive audiophiles compete to see who’s car audio set-up has the best clarity and power.
